A series of portraits shot on a white portable studio in Hanoi in 1997 commissioned for the Nikko Hotel. With the help of a local guide we sped around town on a motorbike looking for suitable subjects that characterised the pulse of the city. Street vendors to market traders and a few officials were invited to stand on my temporoary backdrop that was placed in a quiet wind-free corner of the city and in return for posing I gave them an instant poloroid of themselves to much amazement as the image emerged.
All negatives were shot on my hasseblad 500CM using kodak b/w film.
